Dr Eric and Dr Kristina Lewis Naturopathic Doctors Asheville

Welcome from Drs. Eric & Kristina Lewis, Asheville Naturopathic Doctors

At Lewis Family Natural Health, our goal is to help your body heal from within, integrating the best of western and alternative medicine.

Asheville Naturopathic Doctors

Our names are Eric and Kristina Lewis. We are a husband-and-wife team of naturopathic doctors in private practice together in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina.

We met and fell in love during medical school at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (now the Sonoran University of Health Sciences) in Tempe, Arizona, and have been an inseparable team ever since.

We founded Lewis Family Natural Health in 2006 to provide naturopathic care to not only the people of Western North Carolina, but also to those in the rest of the country (and world!).

At Lewis Family Natural Health, our goal is to help your body heal from within, integrating the best of western and alternative medicine.

We work as a team with you to reach your health goals, whether it be relief from a specific health concern, supportive therapies that will not conflict with your current medications, or achieving optimal wellness.

We love spending each day helping people achieve their health goals. More than just doctors, we also consider ourselves teachers, as we love to educate and share information to empower our patients to make the right decisions for their health.

Your Resource For Science-Based Natural Medicine

We are a qualified resource for you on natural and alternative medicine.

We didn’t learn our craft from Facebook or YouTube. We are both honors graduates from a four-year, post-graduate professional naturopathic medical school. We are experts in both the science of medicine as well as in the art of holistic healing.

We also don’t practice natural medicine because it’s trendy.

We don’t use natural therapies just because they are natural.

We use them because they work.

Getting results from safe and effective holistic medicine is what we do best.

We also don’t believe that all conventional medicine is “bad” and that all natural medicine is “good.” Both systems provide a lot of value, and it’s the combination of the two that we find provides the greatest benefits to overall health and well-being.

Women’s Medicine and Hormone Balance

Dr. Eric also really enjoys and has a lot of experience working with women with PCOS (polycystic 0varian syndrome) as well as other women’s hormonal and metabolic issues. When working with women with these complex conditions, he doesn’t start with a preconceived notion or set protocol. Instead, he works with each woman as a unique individual with a personal story, and a distinct set of issues that require an individualized, holistic health care solution. He creates customized, tailored plans for each of his patients that are constantly adapted and refined as her body responds and heals.

Nutrigenomics and Epigenetics

Nutrigenomics is the study of how nutrients affect genetic expression and how individual genetic differences uniquely affect our physiology, metabolism, and health. Dr. Eric Lewis has been studying nutrigenomics for several years and keeps up with the constant advances in this rapidly changing and growing field.
He advocates for not making blanket recommendations but rather customizes his interpretation within the context of each patient’s unique story and health concerns. He can offer vital connections between what all these different genes might mean and provide insightful information to support each person’s genetic predisposition.

It combines the best of the alternative medicine and Western healthcare worlds into one integrated whole.

It is a distinctive and unique natural approach to health and healing that recognizes the integrity of the whole person.

Naturopathic doctors (NDs), like Dr. Eric and Dr. Kristina, have attended rigorous four-year graduate-level medical programs at accredited naturopathic medical schools.

Six underlying principles of healing guide their practices. These principles of Naturopathic Medicine are based on the objective observation of the nature of health and disease, and are continually reexamined in light of scientific analysis.
